From the Cybersecurity Front Lines to Enterprise Software.

I am Jhonatan Carvajal, founder and executive president of Jeturing Inc. My path into enterprise technology did not begin in a boardroom, but on the front lines of cybersecurity: more than 15 years protecting critical infrastructure in sectors where a mistake is not only costly, but dangerous. I served as Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at a banking-sector fintech, where I led the compliance roadmap under PCI DSS and ISO 27001, strengthened business continuity and disaster recovery plans, and implemented role-based access control (RBAC) and identity governance. In the first year, we reduced critical vulnerabilities by more than 60% — not through a one-time audit, but by building a security culture that the team sustained after I left. Before that, I led information security initiatives at the Dominican Republic's General Directorate of Budget (DIGEPRES), where I developed data governance strategies for a government institution. I took part in nationwide threat-hunting operations at the Dominican Republic National Cybersecurity Center (CSIRT-RD), coordinating end-to-end cyber threat intelligence projects. I managed the Security Operations Center (SOC) at VIVA, one of the country's leading telecommunications companies, and worked as a risk management consultant at KPMG Dominican Republic, advising the Central Bank directly on the design of its security frameworks. I also spent nearly eight years teaching cybersecurity at ITLA, training the next generation in intrusion detection, malware analysis and network monitoring — because protecting critical infrastructure is not just a technical skill; it must be taught and replicated. Each of those roles taught me the same lesson from a different angle: security is not a department; it is a way of building. That is the discipline I bring to Jeturing every day — not as a CISO who now builds software, but as someone who understands that every line of code, every integration and every infrastructure decision is a security decision, whether it is called that or not. I hold a Master of Business Administration focused on Entrepreneurship and Business Strategy from William Jewell College and a degree in Information Technology and Administrative Management from Universidad Dominicana O&M. I also hold certifications in agile project management and as a Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH). I speak Spanish and English professionally because the problems we solve recognize neither borders nor languages.
